The Byre Theatre is proud to be a founder member of Audiences East Scotland, which was launched in July 2009.
Audiences East Scotland's aim is to grow audiences for the arts within the east of Scotland, covering Tayside, Fife, Perthshire and Aberdeen City & Shire.
Working collectively, collaboratively and strategically, we provide a focus for members to develop audiences, share best practice, develop skills and knowledge, establish benchmarking and engage with wider audience development initiatives.
The project has been funded by the Scottish Arts Council and is made up of the following founding members:
•The Byre Theatre of St Andrews
•Pitlochry Festival Theatre
•Horsecross Arts
•Caird Hall
•Dundee Contemporary Arts
•Dundee Repertory Theatre
•Scottish Dance Theatre
•Fife Contemporary Art & Craft
•Fife Arts & Theatre Trust
•Aberdeen Performing Arts
Iain Munro, Co-Director of Arts at the Scottish Arts Council said:
“The Scottish Arts Council is delighted to support the Audiences East Scotland development project, which has the potential to increase access to, and participation in the arts by people across the region. Providing opportunities for participation in the arts is a corporate priority for the Scottish Arts Council and the AES project fits with our aim of developing a Scotland-wide network of regional audience development initiatives.”
