The Byre Theatre is proud of its Education & outreach programme, which is at the heart of the Byre's vision.

We have a passion for learning and teaching through the creative arts and a contemporary approach to creative learning. This is evidenced by the fact that we offer many different Educational experiences: ongoing, one off performance specific or bespoke events and workshops designed for the client – schools, community groups or individuals. Some of our projects include:

• Byre Youth Theatre
• Haydays at the Byre
• Schools and community group tours
• Custom-built workshops in drama, art or craft
• Performance specific workshops
• Continuing Professional Development

The Byre Theatre offer open, ongoing Education and Outreach workshops and classes for all ages and abilities including Byre Youth Theatre from 3-18 and Haydays at the Byre from 50+.

We have also build a long term and ongoing relationship with two primary schools in the local area where we deliver a program of educational drama workshops designed specifically for said schools on the recommendations of the teachers and in line with the Curriculum for Excellence. These projects will involve the designing and presenting of whole school performance either in school or in the theatre. This work is funded by Children in Need.
