Car:  

From Dundee: Distance 13 miles. Time 30 minutes. Cross the Tay Bridge. At the first roundabout take the 2nd exit signposted for Edinburgh. Follow the signposts for A919. Go through Guardbridge & Follow signposts to St Andrews on A91.  

From Edinburgh: Distance 55 miles. Time 1 hour 41 minutes. Take the A90 to the Forth Road Bridge. Continue along M90 until junction 8 Continue along A91 through Strathmiglo, Auchtermuchty, Cupar, Dairsie, Guardbridge before arriving at St Andrews  

From Glasgow: Distance: Distance 73.5 miles. Time 2 hours Leave Glasgow on the M9 until junction 7 when you will take the M876. Follow directions for the Kincardine bridge on the A876. Cross the Kincardine bridge follow signs for Perth & M90 Leave the M90 at junction 8 Follow signposted route to St Andrews on A91.  

From Perth: Distance 34.5 miles. Time 1 hour. Leave onto the A90. Follow signposts for Dundee Join the A85 before Dundee. Upon entering Dundee follow the directions for the Tay Bridge on the A92. Cross the Tay Bridge. At the first roundabout take the 2nd exit signposted for Edinburgh. Follow the signposts for A919. Go through Guardbridge & Follow signposts to St Andrews on A91.                            

From Kirkcaldy: Distance 23.9 miles. Time 57 minutes. Leave Kirkcaldy on the A921 until reaching the Randolph roundabout. Take the 2nd exit signposted St Andrews. This takes you onto the A915. Follow the A915 through Windygates, Leven, Lundin Links, Upper Largo to St Andrews  

Parking in St Andrews. There is limited free street parking available outside the Byre Theatre itself. In St Andrews a voucher parking system is in place where parking vouchers can be bought from local shops. The nearest pay & display car park is located 10 minutes walk away at west port.  

Bus:

St Andrews bus station has links to all the major cities. Check www.stagecoachbus.com for details. Local bus links throughout Fife & Tayside are also frequently available.  

Train:

The nearest station to St Andrews is Leuchars, which is 5 miles outside of St Andrews. At the time of print the earliest train is 05.40am and the last departure is at 22.40pm to Edinburgh, but check with the rail services for any changes. The journey to Edinburgh takes approx 1 hour 20 minutes. The station provides train links to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee. For further train information check www.nationalrail.co.uk  

Flight:

Edinburgh Airport & Glasgow Airport are both international airports and are used by all the major carriers. Upon arrival at the airport you have a number of options to reach St Andrews, such as bus connections to major train stations and also car hire is also available from both airports.

Accessibility  

The Byre Theatre is fully assessable to wheelchair users with disabled toilets and a lift throughout the building providing access to every level. The main auditorium can accommodate 8 wheelchairs.   A hearing loop is available upon request for the main auditorium.
